New World is having a good time all around, ranging from the near end of 2023, and the beginning of 2024. We witnessed the “Rise of the Angry Earth” expansion, and afterward, the “Eternal Frost” expansion, and both were phenomenal. With the release of the new updates, there has been debate on whether the Prospected Gem caches are Profitable in New World for the time being.
The Prospected Gem Caches are the result of the cache of gems that were found after prospecting them. There are three tiers of Prospected Gem Caches, called the Epic, Rare and Uncommon. Opening the respected Prospected Gem Caches will give you the same rarity of Gems. So, can you make gold with the Prospected Gem Caches or not in the New World? Let’s discuss the matter at hand below.
Now, to check out whether the Prospected Gem Caches can earn you enough gold, we are going to experiment.
In this experiment, we gathered 10 Epic Tier Versions of the Caches, and then after selling everything that was inside, we will be looking at how many of them were profitable in the real sense or not.
To conduct this experiment, they were sold immediately, because prices and items may vary after an update of the game. Furthermore, they weren’t upgraded, to keep everything at the same base level.
Here are all the Prospected Gems prices in New World for the server. It might be a little bit different as of right now or based on the server you are in. Same as any other money maker, the Profit is going to change based on the server prices.
Topaz - 5 Brilliant and 22 Pristine
Sapphire - 12.50 Brilliant and 20.99 Pristine
Ruby - 3.25 Brilliant and 41 Pristine
Pearl - 62 Brilliant and 85.88 Pristine
Opal - 2.75 Brilliant and 54 Pristine
Onyx - 2.50 Brilliant and 26.50 Pristine
Moonstone - 3 Brilliant and 21 Pristine
Malachite - 3 Brilliant and 21 Pristine
Jasper - 8 Brilliant and 21 Pristine
Emerald - 2.50 brilliant and 22 Pristine
Diamond - 4 Brilliant and 22 Pristine
Carnelian - 7 Brilliant and 20 Pristine
Aquamarine - 4.25 Brilliant and 21 Pristine
Amethyst - 2.90 Brilliant and 20 Pristine
Amber - 9.50 Brilliant and 22 Pristine
When you purchase the 200 Platinum Ores that are needed for Epic Gems, it will cost you around 65.70 Gold per ore. Following are the prices of each of the Ores.
Silver Ore - 0.06
Gold Ore - 0.07
Platinum Ore - 0.32
Pure Solvent - 0.02
Note: These prices can change depending on the server you are in.
You will also be required around 20 Pure Solvent per crate, so that will add an extra 0.87 Gold per cache, as the price is 0.02 Gold per Solvent.
We are experimenting with 10 Epic Caches, so all of that will be times 10. There is also a 46.90 tax for crafting, meaning the price of purchasing 10 Epic Tier Prospected Gem Caches would be 712.40 Gold.

Now, after going for around 10 pulls, it should bypass 712.40 Gold, which was invested in the initial crafting, and purchasing of items.
Pull 1 brings about 73 Gold, meaning it was profitable by a margin of 2 Gold
Pull 2 brings in only 9 Gold, meaning it was a loss of 62 Gold
Pull 3 brings in 129.8 Gold, meaning it was profitable by a margin of 60 Gold
Pull 4 brings in 89.2 Gold, meaning it was again profitable by a margin of 18 Gold
Pull 5 brings in only 3.2 Gold, meaning it was a loss of 68 Gold
Pull 6 brings in about 209.4 Gold, meaning it was again profitable by a margin of 138 Gold
Pull 7 brings only 17.9 Gold, meaning it was again a loss of 54 Gold
Pull 8 brings another disappointment, as it was worth 9.8 Gold, bringing in a loss of 61 Gold
Pull 9 brings in 191.3 Gold, making a profit of 120 Gold
Pull 10 brings in 113.8 Gold, making another profit of 43 Gold
In total, six out of the ten pulls were profitable, while the 4 were at a loss. This makes the profit percentage of 60 percent. After spending 712.40 Gold, we got a profitable return of 132.49 Gold, as all the Gems from 10 pulls were sold for around 846.9 Gold.
But that is not the whole point here, as you are doing these Pulls, and indulging in the Prospected Gem Cache, you can enhance your Smelting XP to a big margin, and also get more crates, which enhances the profits.
We know that 134 Gold isn’t massive, but if you are doing the process again and again, it will surely be profitable, and you can get more things on the side as well like Smelting XP, and Crates that sell for profit.
Yes, they are profitable in the New World, as from the above experiment on Epic Gem Caches. There were 10 Gem Caches, and the total costs were around 712 Gold to purchase the Prospected Gem Caches (Epic), and crafting, including the tax.
After going for around 10 Pulls, there were some losses in Pulls but mostly were profitable, bringing in a total of 847 Gold. Results were that, we got a profit of around 134 Gold after 10 Pulls from the Prospected Gem caches.
On the side, we also got some Smelting XP and had Crates that were sold for more Profit, earning you additional Gold in return.
The cost of all the items required for the Rare Prospected Gem Caches was 181.2 Gold. After 10 Pulls, and selling the Gems, we got around 169 Gold, meaning the Rare Prospected Gem Caches aren’t profitable and should be avoided.
The cost of all the items required for the Uncommon Prospected Gem caches was 143.6 Gold. After 10 Pulls, and selling the Gems, we got around 44 Gold, which is even worse than the Rare ones. Thus, the Uncommon Prospected Gem Caches aren’t profitable as well, rather they are worse.
The Epic Prospected Gem Caches are only profitable in the New World, while the Rare and Uncommon are not profitable at all. Our recommendation would be to do Epic Prospected Gem Caches in a higher amount, as the more Pulls you have, the better the profit margins will get. Also, you are getting Smelting XP while you are at it, and there are chances of getting some Crates that can sell for high Gold in the New World.
If you are buying the Platinum using the Buy Order while it is low, you can even derive more Gold as a profit out of the Epic Prospected Gem Caches. Same as always, the prices we experimented on might change based on the server you are on, but the concept is fairly the same and Epic Prospected Gem Caches remain profitable and recommended.
