Best Elden Ring DLC Passive AFK Rune Farming - No Fighting and No Glitches!

All the Elden Ring players are preparing for the DLC - Shadow of the Erdtree. One thing that is common amongst players is farming the Elden Ring Runes, as they are the best source of making your character stronger. Here in this guide, we will be sharing with you the Best Elden Ring DLC Passive AFK Rune Farming, where we won’t be using any glitches or fighting enemies/bosses, helping you prepare for the DLC from outside.

Mostly, whenever there is an Elden Ring Rune Farming guide, it revolves around glitches or techniques that allow you to get rich overnight. Not all of us love those, as they are exploits and should be avoided ethically. 

To tackle that we compiled this Elden Ring DLC AFK Rune Farming Guide, where we will show you the best possible way to get runes without exploiting glitches.

Choosing Class and Keepsake

The first thing you need to do is pick a starting class. While every one of the classes can work, the best one to pick is Samurai. 

Moving onwards, the keepsake you want to pick here is “Lands Between Rune”. You have to specifically pick this one.

Start the game and once you reach the Limgrave area, the proper journey onwards starts.

Collecting Rowa Fruit

After you start the game and play, you have to pick the Rowa Fruit primarily. It can be found behind the Lost Grace, between the door and the Lost Grace.

The bushy plants have these Rowa Fruits, and there are plenty to collect around the area.

Talk to Merchant Kale

Now, talk to merchant Kale in the Church of Elleh and buy a Crafting Kit, Arrow, and Torch. You need around 24 arrows, and the runes can be found outside, under the pole. Use the Golden Rune to get them.

Talk to Melina

Furthermore, talk to Melina at the Site of Grace as well at night time. Don’t forget to collect as much Rowa Fruit as you can. Melina will give you the Spectral Steed Whistle.

Note: You can rest at the site of grace (lost grace) and rest there to wait till morning, noon, or nightfall.

Go Back to the Church of Elleh and Talk to Renna

Outside the Church of Elleh at night, you will find Renna. Talk to her.

Go Back to Limgrave and Get Gold Pickled Fowl Foot

Now, go back to the Limgrave area, where you found the first grace. Face the grace, opposite of the door, and move left, towards the Elden Tree in the distance.

Use your steed this time around, and jump down from the cliff, dropping near the ocean. Pick the Gold Pickled Fowl Foot from there. Remember, all of this will be done at night time.

Facing the ocean, move to your right side, and ride the horse till you find a cave. It is quite far and takes time. This should be done in the morning time, and you have to use your torch.

Wait till Noon

In the cave, you can find a Lost Grace, and again rest to wait till noon time. 

Finding Four Toed Fowl Foot

Now, at noon time, get out of the cave, and move towards your left side, same as where you came from. There is a round structure and you will find crows sitting on it.

Use the Arrow and the Bow to attack these crows. Kill them one by one, and you will find Four Toed Fowl Foot from these crows.

You need more of these Four Toed Fowl Feet. That’s why, you have to keep moving forward towards your right (facing the ocean) and moving at the edge of the bay. 

There are more structures and you will find more crows there. Kill them and you will receive Four Toed Fowl Foot. On the stones or parts of the structure, you will find more crows that drop you this item specifically.

Go Back to Gatefront and Find Missionary’s Cookbook 2

Now, from there, you have to go back to Gatefront. Your search for the Missionary’s Cookbook 2 starts from there. At the site of grace, move back to the cavalry, and you will start the Gatefront area.

Follow the road back, and on your left/right side, you will also find some Rowa Fruit. Pick it up while you can.

As you are running, there will be a pole on which you will find Gold Pickled Fowl Foot. It's on your left side.

Opposite the pole, across the road, to your right, you can drop off from the ledge of the cliff. Facing right, you can see a bridge and water underneath it. 

Move to that location and you will be invaded by someone. Avoid it completely or you can kill the invader to get the Bloody Finger.

Behind it, you will find an entrance to the cave on your right. This is the Murkwater Cave. Stick to the right side of the cave, and you will find Patches. Don’t kill him yet.

There is a site of grace there, where you can rest, and turn at noon. Come back to Patches and talk to him. Buy Pickled Fowl Foot, and also the Missionary’s Cookbook from Patches.

Open the chest and you will be teleported to another location. 

Collecting Gold Firefly

After you are teleported to this location, you have to start riding to your left side, facing the massive gorilla on the tree. You will find a map, and then proceeding, you will enter the Minor Erdtree location.

When the title Minor Erdtree appears, you have to start moving to your right. You will be at the location mentioned above in the image.

Follow the image above to move to the location. Here you will find the Lost Site of Grace. Around it, there is a muddy water location and all the Gold Fireflies are here. 

The massive gorillas are here alongside, so it is an indication you are at the right location. Rest at the grace and after resetting, you can farm these Gold Fireflies.

Crafting Gold Pickled Fowl Foot

To craft the Gold Pickled Fowl Foot, you need to have Rowa Fruit, Four Toed Fowl Foot, and Gold Firefly. You have an unlimited supply of these, and hence you can make them as much as you want.

Go to the Third Church of Marika

Ride your horse and move in the direction of structures, and you will ultimately enter the Third Church of Marika. Pick the items, and rest at the Site of Grace there.

Go to Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow

On the right side of the Lady Statue, you can go outside the window, and as you move forward, you can find a Teleporter. Use that Teleporter.

After using it, you will enter the Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow. Travel on your horse to the direction of the road, bypassing the dragon, going behind the Minor Erdtree, using the airlift, and towards the castle.

You will find a Lost Site of Grace to rest at. 

Getting Death Poker

You have nearly everything set, but to Passively AFK Farm Runes you have to get the Death Poker as well. From this site of grace, move to the right of the castle, between the dragon and the castle.

Drop down, and use the airlift to enter the Caelid area. Stop dropping down, and drop down from the mentioned area onto the house building. Double jump when you are at the near end to enter Sellia, Town of Sorcery.

By the jump, you will die, but you will respawn in the Sellia, Town of Sorcery. Call your ride, and move onwards, towards the right, and then backward behind the tower.

You will reach the Sellia Gateway there. Start moving forward and then to your right, where you will also find the Lost Site of Grace. Here, pass your time until nightfall. 

Move in the opposite direction to find the Death Rite Bird, a boss in the vicinity. You have to kite the bird to follow you to the edge of the cliff. There is a massive tree branch, and you can just sit under it.

Wait here, and let the Bird use all the attacks. He will start moving to the left and will eventually drop down, dropping the Death Poker.

Go to Fort Faroth and Utilize Flasks

You will be transported to the Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow. Rest at the site of grace, and add charges to the flask of Crimson Tears, also adding the tears to the flask to increase its effects.

Allocate all the Flasks to the Mana Flasks. Now Mix Wondrous Physick. Use the Green one and the Silver one. Level up the following attributes:

1. Vigor 12

2. Mind 14

3. Endurance 13

4. Strength 15

5. Dexterity 17

6. Intelligence 11

7. Faith 8

8. Arcane 8

Killing Mother Dragon

Level up the following way, and put Death Poker as your primary weapon. Put the Gold Pickled Foot and the Death Poker in your inventory. Go to the dragon, and use your Flask of Wondrous Physick.

Use the Ghostflame Ignition special weapon attack from the Death Poker on the Dragon while you are inflicted with the Flask and attack 1 more time. Use your torch to attack one time and sometimes 1 punch, and then repeat by using a special of Death Poker.

When the mana runs out, you have to use the Flask of Cerulean Tears +1. 

When health is nearly at an end, you have to use the Golden Pickled Foot. 

1 Million Runes Passively in Elden Ring DLC

At the near end, you have to just run towards the Site of Grace near the castle. You have to get there first before the dragon dies, otherwise, it is gone forever and you have to start the game again from the start.

You can also save the game files somewhere else so that you don’t have to do it again and again. When you rest at the Site of Grace, the dragon will respawn the next time as well, and you will get 1 million runes.
