As you progress in Elden Ring or any Souls game, you come to the conclusion that there are some weapons and spells that are broken, meaning they are unbalanced and you can use them to even one-shot bosses. So, we compiled this Elden Ring DragonBorne Blood Mage Build Guide, where we put together three of the best spells and effects in the game to create the Strongest Elden Ring Build in 2024.
Spells, Effects, and Incantations are especially strong in the new Elden Ring DLC - Shadow of the Erdtree. So, you can definitely use this build to dominate the new DLC as well. With that being said, let’s jump to the Strongest Build for Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree.
Bleed, Ancient Dragon Lightning Strike, and Dragon Communion Incantations are three things that make this build the strongest in the game. The Bleed Effect, the Ancient Dragon Lightning Strike Spell/Incantation, and the Dragon Communion Incantations are referred to as the broken effects and spells of the game.
So, the DragonBorne Blood Mage combines all three of them in a single build, making it the strongest build of Elden Ring so far. Mostly, players focus on one of them, but you can combine them as we did here to focus on the weakness of enemies and one-shot them in return.
To hit the required stats at level 150 and make the DragonBorne Build, you need to have the Bandit Class.
Furthermore, the Stats you will be needing are as follows:
50 Vigor is a great place to stop this stat but you can take 10 points from Faith and put in Vigor to push it to 60
15 Mind to balance the build without any discomfort
19 Endurance to hit the 51 break-point with our Armor and Medium-Roll afterward
9 Strength and 14 Dexterity to use the Scavengers Curved Sword
33 Faith for Howl of Shabriri Buff without relying on the Faith Tear and with the Faith Tear, we have around 43 Faith. This will help us reach the 45 soft-cap for the Hybrid Catalyst Spell Power Scaling
80 Arcane as it is the soft-cap for Occult Scaling Weapons, crosses 60 soft-cap for Blood Loss Buildup, way beyond the soft-cap for the Hybrid Catalyst Spell Power Scaling. Also, the seal scales with an S on Arcane
Weapons are the backbone of our Elden Ring DragonBorne Blood Mage Build. Thus, you have to pick them as per this guide:
It will enhance the damage from Dragon Communion Incantations by 15%. You can find it in the Fringe folk Hero’s Grave, at the beginning of the game, but you will need 2 Stonesword Keys.
Later on, you do want to put the Second Dragon Communion Seal in your Off-hand. If you can’t get one from a friend, you can always use the Jellyfish Shield.
To get it, you can go to the broken wagon next to the corpse that has four Jellyfish, found under the Foot of Four Belfies. It enhances the damage to 20% for 30 seconds when you use the skill - Contagious Fury
You can find these in Mt. Gelmir, which is present on a corpse near the Grafted Scion. Essential for the Elden Ring DragonBorne Build, it initiates heavy Blood Loss Buildup and has a high scaling due to the Occult Infusion.
If you can’t get a hold of the second Scavenger's Curved Sword, you can also get the Bandit’s Curved Sword for the Offhand. You can get the Bandit’s Curved Sword by faring the Skeletal Bandits near the church of Pilgrimage. You can use it till you get the Dual Scavengers Curved Sword.
You do want to put the Blood Affinity on the Bandit’s Curved Sword because it doesn’t come with the Bloodloss Buildup like the Scavengers Curved Sword.

While the previous weapons and stuff we mentioned have nothing to do with one-shooting enemies, the Spells and Skills are the reason, it has so high damage and enable you to pass through the Elden Ring without any worries.
Also, the same Spells and Skills we are mentioning for this build enable you to effortlessly play Elden Ring DLC - Shadow of the Erdtree.
Dragon Maw - Channels dragon head to bite enemies in front. You can buy it from the Dragon Communion Altar found in the Cathedral of Dragon Communion in Caelid, but you will need 1 Dragon Heart.
Agheel’s Flame - Channels dragon head to breathe flames from above. You can buy it from the Dragon Communion Altar found in the Cathedral of Dragon Communion in Caelid, but you will need 2 Dragon Hearts after killing Agheel. This is a Fire based spell.
Smarag’s Glintstone Breath - Channels dragon head to breathe glintstone magic from above. You can buy it from the Dragon Communion Altar found in the Cathedral of Dragon Communion in Caelid, but you will need 2 Dragon Hearts after killing Smarag. This is a magic-based spell.
Ekzykes’s Decay - Channels dragon head to breathe scarlet rot from above. You can buy it from the Dragon Communion Altar found in the Cathedral of Dragon Communion in Caelid, but you will need 2 Dragon Hearts after killing Ekzykes. This is a physical damage spell.
Dragon Claw - Channels dragon claws to hit enemies. You can buy it from the Dragon Communion Altar found in the Cathedral of Dragon Communion in Caelid, but you will need 1 Dragon Heart. You can use it instead of Dragon Maw for the smaller enemies because of its AOE and quick attacks.
Seppuku - You need to put Seppuku on both of your Curved Swords, as it adds 30 physical attack powers and 3 base bleeds on them, enhancing them greatly.
When it comes to armor, you also have to take into account the aesthetics, alongside usability and buffs. So, we are focusing on a Dragon-based theme here, and there is nothing better than the following:
Scaled Greaves - 20 Poise
Veteran’s Gauntlets - 8 Poise
Drake Knight Armor - 19 Poise
Skeletal Mask - 4 Poise
With that, you hit the 51 Poise mark, which is required for this build to take hits and not get poise-broken.
Talisman is essential for any great Elden Ring Build. They are mostly like buffs but they are always active.
Fire Scorpion Charm - Enhances Fire Damage by 12% but in return, you will take more Physical Damage (10%). It is suitable with Agheel’s Flame.
Magic Scorpion Charm - Whenever you want to use the Glintstone Breath, you have to use the Magic Scorpion Charm. It enhances the Magic Damage by 12% but in return, you will get more Physical Damage from enemies (10%).
Blue Dancer Charm - It enhances your Physical Damage as you lower the weight. Directly related to the weight, the lower it is, the higher will be your Physical Damage.
Ritual Sword Talisman - It enhances your attack power by 10%, but only when you have the HP maxed out.
Roar Medallion - Enhances the damage from the roars and breath attacks, 15% and 10% respectively.
Flock Canvas Talisman - Enhances damage of incantations by 8%.
Shard of Alexander - If you are more into weapons instead of magic, then you need this one, as it enhances your skill damage by 15%.
Dragon Crest Greatshield Talisman - Finally, for some defense, we have the Dragon Crest Greatshield Talisman, as it reduces the Physical Attack taken from enemies by 20%.
Golden Vow
Howl of Shabriri
Bloodboil Aromatic
Faith Knot Crystal Tear
Magic Shrouding Cracked Tear
Flame Shrouding Cracked Tear
Sleep Pots
