There are two different types of gems in Lost Ark: the cooldown and the attack gems. As the names suggest, the gems help with the cooldown reduction and the damage increase of your skills.
The gems are applied directly to your skills. You have 11 different slots for gems. This means you can upgrade 5 different skills twice and still have the last slot for the sixth skill of your choice. Remember that the best gems in a Wardancer build change according to the way you play.
Which Are the Best Gems to Use
It depends. If you go for the esoteric skill enhancement perk, you must remember that your burst window comes when you fill your esoteric meter. Since your skills will be a small part of your total damage output, it will be far better to focus on Cooldown reduction than in extra damage for them. CDR will help you fill your esoteric balls and send opponents to the next life faster.
On the other hand, if you change the class engravings and go for the first intention build, both become important. If, in the first build, CDR matters most because quick recharge allows you to use more skills, on the first intention build, both are great options.
It happens because, with first intention, your esoteric skills give less damage. Your power comes from the kicks and punches you will deal with your light gauntlets. In other words, your strength is in your basic skills. That means that CDR, to have quick recharge, and damage increase, to make them hurt, will be a big deal.
Lost Ark Cards Set
Another way to keep upgrading your character to make it unique is through the cards. These cards will boost your attributes, like attack speed armor and many other things.
