RSI Apollo Spacecrafts

The legendary Apollo Spacecraft was launched by the Robert Space Industries, who are known as the Gold Standard in the history of Medivac. It is a medium to large medical ship that has two variants, namely The Apollo Triage and The Apollo Medivac, which appear rather similar as they both have the same measurements. Apollo Medivac

The RSI Apollo Medivac is an excellent medical ship, designed to provide advanced medical care and emergency responses along with rescue operations. Before, you had to complete a mini-game called Astromedics and score over 100k points to be able to purchase this ship, but now it's no longer needed.

The Apollo Medivac is capable of landing in hotspots and taking more damage than the Apollo Triage. It has two medical rooms which have Tier 3 medical beds installed in them, and these rooms can be upgraded to Tier 2 and Tier 1.

The Apollo Medivac also has enhanced armor and advanced defenses compared to the other medical ships. Its storage space is limited and can only be used to store medical gear and supplies. It is the upgraded and armored version of the Apollo Triage and is more suitable for dangerous situations.

Apollo Triage

This variant is like the lit version of Apollo Medivac and focuses more on frontline medical operations. It has a less advanced defense system than that of the Apollo Medivac but has a high medical and treatment capacity rather than a strong armor or defense system.

Despite having the same cargo capacity as the Apollo Medivac, this ship falls back on the defense part as it has only standard defenses and is less armored than the Medivac. Although it does have the ability to house more medical beds that can be upgraded to Tier 2 and Tier 1, it can only function well with security support and sustained medical needs in a less dangerous and organized environment.

The Apollo Triage places more importance on medical capacity, so it can be quite useful during battles or events that require large-scale medical support, as it provides efficient medical care to several injured players at once.

Medical Drones

These are the base components of both the Apollo Triage and the Apollo Medivac. The function of these drones is to collect the bodies of downed players or NPCs, thus providing low risk for the medical crew. These come in handy when you need to retrieve injured players from inaccessible or dangerous zones.

Injuries

Instead of having a single health bar for their body, the characters of Star Citizen receive damage for particular parts of the body that are hurt. This designed health system provides a more realistic gameplay experience. Injuries can vary from minor wounds to crippled state and each injury requires a different level of medical attention. Injuries can be classified into 3 categories, namely:

Tier 3: This tier contains all the minor injuries that cause symptoms like increased weapon sway or reduced movement speed. Such injuries don’t require stabilization and decrease the maximum health pool. The symptoms caused depend on the area of injury.

Tier 2: All moderate injuries are covered under this tier. This can be called the worst version of minor injuries that can lead to limping or painful grunts, which can be audible in-game. Injuries at other places can be treated later, but moderate injuries to the head or chest require medical attention.

Tier 1: This tier covers all the Severe Impairments. This is caused when moderate injuries escalate and get even worse. This level of injury to any body part can cause serious damage.

#It is not recommended to use a damaged limb as it will only aggravate the wound further and increase the severity of the injury.

The areas that can get affected or injured are listed below:

Head

It is one of the most sensitive areas in our body and is critical for vision and the functioning of our body. It is affected in the following ways by the different tiers:

Tier 3: Injuries on the head cause muffled audio, blurred vision, and an increased stun recovery time.

Tier 2: Moderate injuries to the head require stabilization.

Tier 1: If not treated, head injuries at this level can lead to unconsciousness, and in case of critical damage, the player will face instant death.

Chest

It is ranked as the second most sensitive area after the head in our body and is a vital area for breathing. It is affected in the following ways by the injuries:

Tier 3: At this tier, chest injuries cause wheezing and reduced stamina.

Tier 2: If the character incurs a moderate injury in the chest, it requires quick stabilization.

Tier 1: Severe injuries to the chest can lead to death if not treated in time.

Arm (Both right and left)

It is an important part of our character’s body and is equally prone to harm as much as the head and chest. The injuries affect arms in the following ways:

Tier 3: Arm Injuries at this tier cause weapon sway and reduced melee damage.

Tier 2: Moderate injuries at the arm can lead to a decrease in aiming accuracy and reduce interaction ability.

Tier 1: If your arms get severely injured, they can prevent you from equipping or using certain items.

Leg (Both right and left)

It is the most important body part for mobility in the game and can be affected by tiered injuries in the following ways:

Tier 3: Leg Injuries reduce movement speed

Tier 2: In this tier, leg injuries can impair movement by causing limping and reduced mobility.

Tier 1: Injuries in this tier can cause the player to crawl or even fall into an immobile state.

#If none of the body parts are damaged and are fully functional, it will be considered as a Normal Body status.

Death and Regeneration

The players can die in two major ways in Star Citizen, and those ways are as follows:

Incapacitation Before Death

When a player gets severe injuries and faces impairment, they will collapse, unable to move or interact before their vision fades out and their time of death will be displayed. There is an incapacitation timer before death embraces the player, so if the player fails to receive a dose of Hemozal before the timer expires, they will die and regenerate in a medical bed of Tier 2 or Tier 1. The duration of the timer depends on the damage received and can be further shortened by receiving additional damage. Other factors that affect the timer are temperature, dehydration, bleeding, etc.

Instant Death

This death can be caused by receiving large amounts of damage at once. It is less common than the first death but can be caused nonetheless by a critical hit to the head, explosions, a huge damage to the chest, toxins and radiations. Instant death can sometimes be prevented by quick stabilization.

If the player did not receive any stabilization within the time limit, then the player will die and wake up in a hospital or medical station with a healing body which sometimes has the scars of previous injuries.

Healing

To get fully healed, an injured player needs to spend some time in the medical beds of the same tier as their injuries. If an injured individual is put into a bed that does not match the tier of his injuries, then his wounds won't be healed, but the player will be stabilized, which allows the medics to transport the injured player to a facility with the required level of medical technology.

In case there is no medical help available, players can also use medical consumables that can alleviate the injuries for a temporary period. These consumables are also called Drug Injection Pens and are available for several kinds of injuries. Some examples are AdrenaPen, DetoxPen, and OpioPen.
