Star Citizen is still in development and will remain in it for a long time. There are many mechanisms in the game introduced recently, while some dead ones are updated to bring life into them. Trading is one of the most important and fan-favorite mechanisms in-game like these, yet in Star Citizen, it was pretty much dead for a long.
Recently, the developers started to roll out updates to make it useful. Still, the beginners and most gamers don’t understand the routes or concept of trading in Star Citizen. To earn from Trade in Star Citizen, you need to understand the Trade Routes and find the best one to get aUEC in bulk.
Here in this article, we compiled a Star Citizen Trade Routes Guide to help you figure out the best strategy for trading. So, without wasting any time, let us get straight to the guide.
When thinking about Trade in Star Citizen, the first thing that pops off is Cargo Space in your Ship. You load the trade material in your Ship Cargo Space and then take it somewhere to sell it for some profit.
In Star Citizen there are various levels of ships and each level can accommodate a certain type amount of Cargo. Whereas, each level has a good grasp of certain materials. Below, we mentioned these levels along with the discussion on which ships are included in these levels and which Trade Routes you have to take for certain materials, based on the Size.
There are four big Trading Places for Legal Trading, meaning you can sell legal goods there.
Area 18
Lorville
Orison
New Babbage
These places are also referred to as the Trade and Development Division or Central Business District.
For the Entry Level, the Cargo Capacity is around 24 to 96 SCU (Standard Cargo Unit). The smaller the Cargo Space, the higher will be the Quality of Cargo Material. So, the best way is to trade with the most expensive material “Laranite”. This material in Trade gives you the highest Profit Margin out of the bunch.
At trade terminals, you can loot the boxes to get Laranite or some can be found in the inventory guide. One thing to keep in mind is that Laranite might bring to you the highest profit, but it is mostly out of stock, especially in large quantities.
Trading with Nomad: New Babbage is currently the fastest way to buy/sell Laranite and make a decent profit out of it. For this Entry Level Ship or Small Ship, this is the best trade route to buy large cargo holds, as there are always materials available to purchase here.
Trading with Freelancer: Using the Freelancer, which has double the Cargo Space in contrast to Nomad, you can add a bit of mix into trading. At all the legal trade routes you can trade with Stims (sometimes considered illegal). Their stability with profit is incredible, but your need to go away from the space stations, as they scan you.
Because of the 66 SCU capacity of the Freelancer, Medical Supplies and Laranite are also tradable but it is below the Laranite Route of smaller Nomads.

Middle-Class Ships come with an SCU capacity of 114 to 300. For the Middle Class, the best bet is Constellation Taurus coming with an SCU capacity of 174. The great thing about this ship is that it is considerable in versatile areas of the game and generates higher profits.
Trading with Constellation Taurus: Coming with the three times the capacity of Early Game Ships, this middle-class ship can trade Stims and Medical Supplies where Stims are available, at much higher margins. So, with the Constellation Taurus, you should always get the Medical Supplies first. If there aren’t medical supplies, you can switch to Stims and trade with them.
Trading with the Mid-Level Ship like Constellation Taurus, you need to first fly towards one of the big space stations, but the price is somewhat lower than the trade center of area 18. So, you must make up the decision to whether go with Area 18 for full load cargo or stick with the trade center for smaller cargo fills, along with the stops.
There is a limit to what can be sold at a trading center when talking about Medical Supplies. Be patient and you will earn a large sum of profit here.
Astatine Substance: With the ship, we get twice lucrative materials but it is radioactive and highly unstable. The profit margin is great here but you have to worry about time a lot. With this substance, it is better to take smaller routes with less profit than taking longer routes with a bigger profit.

In the upper class, there are ships like Hercules Starlifter C2 that come with around 696 SCU maximum. The best bet is a rare commodity that is next to Laranite and provides the maximum profit you can accommodate in the game. As this material is in greater demand, you will find it at a higher purchase price and purchase quantities are also limited here.
Trading with Starlifter C2: There is a rare substance by name of Agricium that can be found at trading centers where Titanium is available. You can get this substance in bulk to get the best possible profit but in the Upper-class, the risk of loss is significantly increased, as cargo load enhances. So, it is said that you need to invest as much as you can beer in an emergency.
Agricium Substance: The best possible Trade Route is Loreville on Hurston when you have a small quantity of Agricium and a large quantity of titanium by your side. For the sale, the Central Business District is really good. Still, if you want to follow any other route for Agricium in Star Citizen it will be possibly profitable, as there aren’t any bad routes for this substance.

In the MobiGlas, you can find the Commodity Price Alerts from Journal. These are Dynamic Trade Focal Points which can currently occur for the food that is processed, spirits (distilled), and those good old rare medical supplies. These substances are updated regularly while giving you the best possible profit if you can do this in time.
At the Harbor Space Station above Loreville, you can get those distilled spirits, but filling them is rather hard with larger cargo ships. The Distilled Spirits are commonly available on the small stations, where you can bring your small ships to fill us and earn a profit.
You should never go for the multiple routes as time is valuable here for special goods. If you can pull off the trade-in given time or before it disappears, you will surely enjoy a higher profit.
Only in the area of Medical Supplies, you will find a few price alerts and it is also a chance that special trade goods are also available through this price alert system
Distilled Spirits: These are just like stims and are officially classified as drugs. But they don’t cause any difficulty in Trading and can be traded at all official trading points. Distilled Spirits are most available in the Everest harbor and you can earn more profit by filling up your ship with them and trading at a major location.
To trade at the space stations, you will need the administration office which you can find in the galley area. You can find that, at the trading station, the purchased quantity of Distilled Spirit is less in comparison to the Trading Route we discussed.
Medical Supplies depend heavily on the Purchase Price and availability, the best approach is to take the Stims route because it is more predictable. The most suitable ship for this trade is none other than C2 which has incredible freight capacity.
With this combination, the risk of loss is significantly lower because of the lower price of purchase and the possibility of less startup capital. In contrast to the medical supplies, most of the stations offer both of these trade materials. This opens the door to trade both of these materials together without picking which one is best suitable.
You can take the safe Trade route with the possibility of good profit. In the stormy or strange weather, be careful as you can be in trouble. Pay close attention to the character and what is happening in the environment, otherwise, a rescue mission is the only chance to save your cargo.

On the other hand, Astatine provides a good combination of both good profit and predictability. This material is available in large quantities while offering around 2 aUEC profit on each unit, which is good. While Trading with Astatine, your purchase price is the decisive factor.
At trading terminals, you can earn up to 5 million with this material. The risk with Astatine is really in check and not that much, making it safer for larger loads on ships like Hercules, Starlifter, and so on. For the Early Stage, you can pick this material for Trade Routes in the early game.
In the Microtech sector, this material truly shines and allows for better throughput per hour in contrast to the other Trading Terminals.

Titanium is possibly available in nearly every Trade Centre because of how common it is. If you like to earn a profit if Laranite, Astatine, Stims, or Medical Supplies aren’t available, then your best bet is Titanium. The profit of Titanium on average is around 1.8 per unit, which is solid for Trading in Star Citizen.
We can also patch up Titanium with Stims, as the route will be predictable and profit will be high. There would also be no worries about filling the cargo to the max, as both of these materials are commonly available in Star Citizen.
With the Titanium Route, you can earn around 125k aUEC and the average profit is around 90k aUEC considering the Star Citizen Trade Routes we mentioned.

Diamond is just like Titanium, considering it follows the Standard Routes. Diamonds come with exceptional availability, basic price, stability, and decent profit of around 1.5 aUEC per unit. To upgrade the route, at each Trading Station there are special materials available for trade.
To not lose time, we can patch up Diamond with the Aluminum to fill up the Cargo Space. This in return will yield good profit, the route will be easy and you will have a stable income without any danger on the way.
You can earn up to 80k aUEC but the possibility of profit can be around 100k aUEC depending on the conditions.

It is essential to familiarize oneself with the tools that help with Trade
Understand that the smaller your Cargo Space is, the better quality of materials yield you good profit.
Never spend too much on acquisition than you have to and it is applied to every purchase.
The trading system is always evolving along with that dynamic pricing. This means that routes might change with major updates and the pricing of materials in Trade will also change.
It is most likely that new trade routes will be introduced instead of changing the already existing trade routes.
Trading in Star Citizen is slowly flourishing and somewhat enough to make a living in-game, but it does require specific routes and knowledge of Materials (Commodities). Some materials are exceptional for smaller cargo space ships, some for medium cargo space ships, and others for ships with the largest cargo space like C2.
it depends on what you have and which kind of risk you are able to take in Trading. Here we have the Star Citizen Trade Routes Guide alongside knowledge of different Commodities to help you get the best out of your Trade and make a lot of Profit with what you already have.
