New World server merges planned throughout the end of the year
Amazon has confirmed which worlds will be merging within New World servers in US-East, US-West, Australia, and Central Europe.
In an update posted to the game's official forums, New World community manager Luxendra said that there will be " two separate times listed for these merges，one for preparation and one for execution".and – in a list so long I can't replicate it here – listed every single world that will be affected by the changes.
" As a reminder, once in-game messaging is posted, players in these worlds will not be able to transfer servers," the post explains. " They will see a banner at the bottom of their screen reminding them of this merge when they enter the game."
Any worlds not listed are not scheduled for a server merge at this time and the team will be monitoring mergers " as it happens" to ensure any issues or problems are swiftly resolved. The mergers are expected to take place across 20th and 21st December.
For US-East, New World Server Merges will begin at 10 am EDT on December 20.
For US-West, New World Server Merges will begin at 10 am EDT on December 20.
For Central EU, New World Server Merges will begin at Midnight on December 21.
" From fighting your opposition in wars and invasions to hanging out in the local tavern, we've found that a healthy realm provides more opportunities for players to enjoy the world of Aeternum," explains New World's FAQ.
" In general, when our data shows that the experience in the world has become suboptimal, the team will investigate why conditions changed and if a merge is needed. Part of our investigation includes work to find the most suitable counterpart for worlds destined to be merged, helping to ensure your time in Aeternum is fun and socially exciting."
MMO New World has seen its aggregate user reviews on Steam fall from " mostly positive" to "mixed" in the last 30 days. Feedback seems mostly to criticise the game's "grind" and its litany of bugs and issues. A couple of weeks back, Amazon even said it would take " remediation steps" against New World players who " egregiously exploited" the irritating coin duplication bug.
New World is putting on a crossover event with Amazon's Wheel of Time adaptation. Going live on December 24, the event won't be sticking around in Aeternum forever – it'll be wrapping up in just over two weeks from then on January 11, 2022.
