The latest information regarding Final Fantasy XIV Patch 5.45 has been shared through the official website. This includes new information about the Save the Queen Relic Weapon questline and new content for Blue Mage. Final Fantasy XIV Patch 5.45 is scheduled to release on February 2, 2021.This update is expected to bring a number of new content additions to the game alongside general bugfixes and quality-of-life improvements. Expect an extended maintenance period and a bulkier-than-normal download as the update is rolled out onto servers.
The main additions to sub-patch 5.45 will require players to have content from previous updates, and include:
Next Resistance Weapon Quests
The battle for the southern front wages on, and having failed to retake Castrum Lacus Litore, chances of victory appear slim for the Resistance. Slimmer still should the IVth Imperial Legion bring the full might of Save the Queen to gear. Players will battle the IVth Imperial Legion once again, pouring more efforts into aiding the Bozjan Resistance to take back their home. A mysterious temple awaits beneath the ruins of Queen Gunnhildr's kingdom. Delubrum Reginae is the next large-scale battlefield as part of the Bozjan storyline.
New Large-scale Battle
With this update, the Save the Queen Relic Weapon questline will continue. A new large scale battle will be added in to Final Fantasy XIV titled Delubrum Reginae. This area is described to be the remains of the Queen Gunnhildr's kingdom and where shrine maidens had previously come to pray.
The temple at its heart, once a shining beacon of hope for Bozja, now remains forever shrouded in darkness. And it is there the Warrior of Light must lay the queen's legacy to rest.
Upgrades for aspiring crafters
As the Firmament lays foundations for a new era in Ishgard, the time has come to present its skybuilders with tools representing the pinnacle of Skysteel perfection. But what esoteric means must be employed to reach such daunting heights?
Finally, crafters and gatherers have additional Skysteel tools to look forward to. The best of the best for Disciples of the Hand and Land, these tools are tough to get, but they're well worth it in the end. The latest Skysteel tools requirements will likely be quite steep.
Limited Class Update
Patch 5.45 sees the level cap for blue mage raised to 70, as well as the introduction of all-new blue mage job-specific quests and gear. Practitioners of the cerulean arts will also discover new spells to master, and find their blue mage logs updated with 4.x patch content. Being blue has never been so much fun!
Overall, Patch 5.45 sounds packed with content. There's plenty to keep players busy until Patch 5.5 and 5.55, the next major updates down the line, wrapping up story content for the current Shadowbringers expansion, and then the countdown to Final Fantasy XIV's next expansion will finally begin.
