Diablo IV Guide to Inventory and Items Slot

Inventory and Item Slots are two of the most important Diablo 4 game features. Inventory is where you keep your collected items throughout your journey of the Sanctuary and Item Slot gives you information about your players armor and weapons. So, for successfully enjoying the gameplay it’s important you know about both of them.

In this article, we will be discussing these two. We will start by Inventory and then move on to the Items Slot. There are many features and factors that can be considered when in battle but these two are of equal importance as well. So, without wasting much of your time, let’s begin discussing them.

Inventory in Diablo IV

Inventory is a place where you can keep the items that you have collected during your gaming journey. Every Diablo 4 item that you possess can be found in inventory. Here the items are categorized into various spaces, thus making it easier for you to search an item.

Inventory plays an important role when you want to trade items with your trading partner. According to the game mechanics, you should have the items that you want to trade present in your inventory only. As mentioned previously the inventory is divided into 4 sections:

  • Equipment

  • Consumables

  • Quests

  • Aspects

The Equipment section is used for storing items such as Weapons, Jewelry, Gems, Caches and Armor.

The Consumables section is used for storing items such as Incense and various types of Elixirs.

The Quests section is used for storing items that are obtained when you play the quest content and win rewards.

The Aspects section is used for storing items such as Legendary Aspects that are extracted using the Occultist.

Though it is still unknown how, we can assume that the items which are picked up by you and stored in the inventory are automatically placed in the allotted section.

Inventory Screen

Inventory screen is known for showing crucial information and keeping various tabs/sections, that are mentioned above, separately.

Paper Dolls

In Diablo 4, the paper doll, a mainstay throughout the Diablo series of games, is back with equipment spaces all around the player's character. The Paper Doll is an accurate depiction of a character and their equipment.

On the paper doll's left are statistics, including important information like:

  • Dexterity

  • Willpower

  • Intelligence

  • Strength

  • Materials

  • Armor

  • Life

  • Attack Power

To get more specific statistics, click the red button next to your name. Another panel will pull out as a result of pressing this button, and it will provide crafting supplies in addition to all stat information.

Inventory Size

Each tab/section of the inventory is divided into slots of 11 rows and 2-3 columns thus giving each tab a total of 22-33 slots. The Equipment and Consumables tab has 33 slots each and the Quests and Aspects have 22 slots each.

In the previous versions of the game, items would take up space based on their size, but in Diablo 4, each and every item would take up 1 slot only. Each object's inventory slot icon is a scaled-down counterpart of its larger self, making it simpler to discern between one item from another.

Unreviewed Items

One more feature that has been added to the Inventory is that the items that haven’t been reviewed yet, hovered over but haven't been used, have a shimmering effect.

Inventory Management

The Diablo franchise has constantly put a strong emphasis upon inventory management, and Diablo 4 is no different. The ongoing battle to fit in a huge variety of formidable weapons, armor, and precious goods can frequently prove difficult as players explore the dark and perilous areas. Thus inventory management is crucial.

Unfortunately, the Diablo 4 game doesn’t not allow you to increase the size of your inventory as of now. However, you can always manage the items that you have in your inventory and save space for new items. There are three main ways to handle the aforementioned items in Diablo 4: using storage chests, salvaging, and selling. These techniques can be intelligently used to make space in your inventory and keep it from getting constantly crowded. The use of these effective inventory management strategies will enhance your gaming experience. You may be required to spend Gold, the in-game currency of Diablo 4 for the proper management of the inventory. So if you are falling short of the same, the best way to get them is for real money.

Item Slots in Diablo IV

Items Slots in Diablo 4 come in various types and understanding each of these types is very crucial in order to progress in the game efficiently and effectively. Item slot helps you know which part of the body carries which item thus giving you a better opportunity to use your weapon and armor more effectively. There are many other key factors that can be accounted for when you are in a battle, but knowing about the item slot before entering into a fight is of equal importance.

If you have played the previous version of the Diablo series game then you must get yourself familiar with the Item Slots mechanism. A lot has been changed in Diablo 4. As a result, in order to make use of your combat items effectively in Diablo 4, players must first comprehend the various Item Slot types.

Diablo 4 Item Slots

Gear Slots

In order to fully understand what kind of gear you can equip your players with, you have been provided with a couple of Slots for items. In Diablo 4, the item slot mechanism is similar to the previous installments of the Diablo games, but this time there are few changes that can be noticed immediately. One such change is that there is no Item Slot for Shoulder this time in the Diablo 4 game.

Each character that is playable in the Diablo 4 game has been alloted 10 Item Slots. Each item slot has a different type, but same for characters of the same class. All the 10 item slots are categorized into 3 types - Armor, Weapons and Jewelry. We will go through each one of them in detail. So, let’s begin…

Category: Armor

Armor is important to have in a battle. It is used to defend yourself against the damage dealt by the enemies. Armor covers everything from the head to the toe. So, there are 5 Item Slots designated especially for the Armor of the players. These 5 Item Slots are Helm (Head Slot), Chest (Torso Slot), Gloves (Hands Slot), Legs Slot, and finally Boots (Feet Slot).

The Item Slots of the Armor category defend your character in addition to contributing to their overall appearance. Each type of armor slot protects one particular body part of your character; helms, for instance, are designed to be worn on the head. The total number of your equipment would add up to determine your character's overall defensive capacity, depending on their rarity and power.

Category: Jewelry

Just like Armor is important for defending your character, Jewelry is to give them specific abilities. The Jewelry is divided into 3 Item Slots for every character. These are Amulet (Neck Slot), Ring 1 Slot and Ring 2 Slot.

With each amulet that you possess, or Rings for that matter, your character will be given a unique property. That property depends upon how rare the Jewelry Item is. With two Rings slots for each player, you can enjoy the properties of two Different Rings at the same time.

Category: Weapons

You have your armor, you have your Jewelry, but just having knowledge about them won’t be enough to defeat the monsters and save the Sanctuary. You should know about the Item Slots for weapons as well. You will need to equip your character with the best weapon to defeat the monsters. There are 2 Item Slots available for weapons in the Diablo 4 game. While this is true for all the classes with the exception of Rogue and Barbarian Class characters. The 2 Item Slots for Weapons are - Off-hand Weapon, and Main-hand Weapon.

Your main hand would be equipped with the main-hand weapon that you will be using in fighting the enemies. Main hand weapons could be anything like the Maces, Axes, bows etc. Whereas, the off-hand weapon slot is meant for the weapons that can be operated with one hand only. These weapons could be small swords or daggers.

Weapon Item Slots for Barbarian and Rogue Class

  • A Two-handed Bludgeoning weapon

  • Two One-handed weapons

  • A Two-handed Bludgeoning weapon

These two classes have a total of 4 weapon slots, which is 2 more than any other class.

Conclusion

This would be all about the Inventory and Item Slots in the Diablo 4 game. Inventory is improtant to find all your items at a single place categorised into various tabs for your comfort. Item Slots helps you to equip your character with best items for the battle. It’s important to know about both these features. This will be all from us for now. Stay tuned with us for more updates.
