New World Smelting Leveling Guide - Smelt Made Easy

New World is a new MMORPG that has given a lot to talk about, thanks to its classless system and the variety of paths you can take to become someone in the game.

A big and important part of New World is refining trade skills. These abilities allow you to create different items using several materials like silver ore, iron ore, and silver ingots, among others, and then refine them later to craft specific items.

One of these skills is the Smelting skill, which allows you to refine ores so you can later sell them in the trading post or use them as crafting materials.

In this guide, we’re going to explain how to power level the Smelting skill and why you should increase your expertise in this matter.

What Is The Smelting Skill

Smelting is one of the five refining trade skills (Smelting, Stonecutting, Leatherworking, Weaving, Woodworking)  and a primary profession you can develop in New World. With it, you can turn several types of Ore into ingots and use them to craft weapons, armor, and ammunition.

You basically melt a ton of materials to get the basic item for Jewelcrafting, Armoring, and other crafting skills professions.

Your gathering skills will help you collect tons of materials to craft your ingots. As you do this, you will gain experience in refining, collecting, and using raw materials.

This skill is perfect for those gamers that don’t want to pay other crafters or smelters and still want to create their own equipment from scratch. You don’t need to loot or save coins to get your gear if you can make it yourself.

Smelter Crafting Station

The Smelter crafting station is where you can refine ores and turn them into ingots. They are scattered throughout the entire map of New World, but you can usually find them in locations near settlements.

The thing about smelter crafting stations is that you need to find a good tier station so you can start refining materials without worrying about the tier level.

When you begin leveling smelting, you will be able to refine better ingots, like the platinum ingot or orichalcum ingot, and you will need a better Station to do so.

If you don't have the time to farm more New World Coins, you can use MMOPixel's reliable rune purchasing services.

Why Is It Important to Level Up the Smelting Trade Skill

The Smelting trade skill allows you to refine materials to use them in crafting processes. This is one of the viable alternatives when you want to get your gear or crafting materials without having to recur to sellers or killing mobs.

Smelting, just as any trading skill, is necessary to put a different focus on the game besides the usual kill-level up-kill story.

Taking advantage of these aspects in New World provides a better gaming experience and a slight improvement in your character’s stats.

If you have a higher level material and you want to downgrade it, you can also do it. For example: You can have steel ingots and get iron ingots from them, but you need a special solution for that.

Here are the requirements you need to have a lower level material when refining ore.

When you increase your Smelting experience, you can also get the ability of conversion. This way, you can create the Flux required to refine ingots. A higher-quality flux will require higher-tier materials.

How to Power Level the Smelting Refining Skill

We already know leveling up trading skills can be a hard task. In fact, the game was designed like that so you can enjoy the whole experience of refining starmetal ingots and a few gold ingots.

However, there are ways you can improve the leveling up rate so you can achieve level 200 and waste a lot less time than doing it traditionally.

There are different types of power-leveling, but here we share the way we have found to be the best to influence your Smelting XP gainings.

Level 0 to 50

Reaching level 0 to 50 is easy if you know an efficient way to do it.

The first thing you need to do is gather over 1600 Green Woods from Young trees. You can find a tier 2 or 3 settlement and gather your materials in the zones nearby.

With your Green Woods gathered, go to the Smelter Crafting Station in town and craft 782 Charcoal. As you continue your crafting, you will level up until you reach level 50.

You can speed up and increase your gathering trade skill using a better Axe. It all depends on you.

Level 50 to 100

To reach level 100, you will have to start using other refining skills. This time, your mining level needs to increase. You will follow a mining route to gather Silver Ore and create Silver Ingots.

Gather 4032 Silver Ore to create 1008 Silver Ingots. The time spent mining will help you reach at least level 45 in your Mining, so this is great to complement your character.

You now will need 2520 Gold Ore that you need to get from Gold veins. The best place to get it is in Defiler Excavation. This is part of the Gold Ingots crafting process. The last item left is getting Sand Flux, which you can loot or get in the trading post. You need 504 pieces.

With all the pieces together, you can craft Gold Ingots and reach level 100 in Smelting.

Level 100 to 150

This is the part where it gets tricky. To level up Smelting to 150, you will need to have Mining 100 because you will be crafting Starmetal Ingots.

To reach this Mining level, you can start mining in the Iron Ore veins. You will need to collect a significant amount of 14020 Iron Ores, 14020 to be exact. You will turn them into Iron Ingots later.

Now, get 1752 Flux. It can be any Flux material. If you get higher-tier Flux you can get a slightly more smelting experience. You can either buy them in the trading post or loot them. Remember that if you choose to purchase them, you need to be careful of low buy orders in the Trading Post, since they can be more expensive.

At last, mine 3504 Starmetal Ores to craft 584 Starmetal Ingots.

Level 150 to 200

Now, the last of the process is farming the Orichalcum Veins. You will have to reach Mining level 175 to do this.

Now, you will need to get Starmetal Ore, Orichalcum Ore, Flux materials, Charcoal, and Steel Ingots.

For this stage in this New World guide, we will disclose the number of materials in a table.

Resource

Amount

Starmetal Ore

1958

Orichalcum Ore

7832

Flux Materials

2937

Charcoal

5874

Steel Ingots

3916

Level 150 to 200 will feel like having supply containers of materials waiting for you, we know. But these are necessary to achieve the trade’s skill top level.

With all these resources, you will need to find a location with a Tier 5 Smelter to produce 979 Orichalcum Ingots and finally reach level 200.

Smelting Leveling Guide Tips

Even though this guide may seem like you’re just mass-producing Steel Ingots and other materials, you can also craft additional items that you need in the process. We have only given you the ones that can help you reach level 200 fast.

However, if you want to speed up your power leveling even more, here you can see some tips to obtain the 200 level mark quickly.

Increase Your Weaponsmithing Level

Weaponsmithing gets along with Smelting. Ingots are used to craft weapons, so in your leveling journey, you can also increase this trade skill level to improve your gear while also unlocking different rarities of items.

Recipes will take a big part in Weaponsmithing, so be sure to obtain good weapons recipes.

Boosters Are Helpful

Proficiency boosters have great importance when you are on the farming routes without companions. These potions give you a potential bonus that increases your gathering rate.

For top tier materials like Orichalcum Ore or Platinum Ore works great.

Go to the Market for Cheap Ore

If you want to acquire cheap Ore, you can find good deals in the Trading Post. Usually, players drop the price of certain items and materials, so you can use this in your favor to purchase more items for crafting.

Look for Settlements With Low Taxes

As always, money matters. You will be crafting a lot of materials, and taxes can be quite high if you don’t find a settlement with low tax to continue with your power leveling.

Reach Level 60 to Find Better Farm Zones

Most zones for Tier 4 or 5 materials are located in endgame locations. So, if you have a high-level character, you may have better armors, weapons, and more capacity in your inventory to collect materials.

Conclusions - New World Smelting Leveling Guide

This smelting guide will help you increase your smelting leveling abilities as well as other trading skills you will need to find your way in New World.

Don’t lose time and effort if you want to build an impressive record of professions in this new MMORPG and become part of the merchants that everyone is looking for.
